Beirut Explosion – level 2
07-08-2020 07:00
On Tuesday, there was a huge explosion in Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon. At first, it was not clear why the explosion happened. Some media informed that an accident happened at a fireworks warehouse.
However, later, officials said that the explosion happened at a warehouse of chemicals. 2,750 tons of chemicals exploded because the storage was not safe. More than 100 people died in the explosion, and hundreds of people ended up in hospital.
Authorities must find out the level of damage; however, it is clear that the damage is very big and it has impacted the whole city.
Difficult words: huge (very big), warehouse (a building where people store things), storage (when people store things), impact (to make a huge change).
