This year was full of great news. In medicine, a lung cancer vaccine started trials to help the immune system fight cancer.
A new treatment for cervical cancer reduced deaths by 40%. AI helped detect cancer early and save more lives. A titanium heart also helped a man live until he could get a real heart.
The environment improved with less deforestation in the Amazon and new ways to save coral reefs. Solar power grew fast, with China building the biggest solar farm ever. Space had exciting news too, with the first civilian spacewalk and a new solar-powered spaceship idea from NASA.
Social changes included Thailand’s new law for same-sex marriage and cheaper insulin for people in the US.
Difficult words: cervical (relating to the cervix, the narrow lower part of the uterus), deforestation (clearing a wide area of trees), civilian (an ordinary person, not a soldier), insulin (a hormone which manages your blood sugar level).
