Bike Race New Date – level 1

The Tour de France is a very popular bike race. It takes place in France every summer. It lasts three weeks. It starts in the city of Nice. The last part is in Paris.

This year, organizers change the date. The coronavirus is in France. The French government cancels all big sports events. The new date is in August. Organizers want to make the race safe for cyclists and spectators.

Organizers do not want to cancel the race. It brings a lot of money. Companies give money to the teams. The teams show the companies’ logos on their sport dresses. It is a good business for everybody.

Difficult words: event (a planned activity that many people come to), spectator (a person who comes to watch a race or a match), logo (a picture or design that is a symbol of a company).
