Chaos in UK Parliament – level 2
30-09-2019 15:00
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Boris Johnson suspended the British parliament. He said that he had to do it to get ready for a new parliamentary session. For five weeks, nobody worked in the parliament.
However, the justices later said that Johnson broke the law. The parliament went back to work on Wednesday, September 25th. Critics are calling upon Johnson to resign.
Difficult words: suspend (stop), parliamentary session (a longer time when the parliament regularly meets), justice (a judge of the Supreme Court of a country).
