Shanghai has a thick fog during the holiday. It is hard to see famous places.

The fog covers a large area, from the north to the south. Authorities warn about the fog. This is the first warning since 2017. People in Shanghai are surprised. They cannot see the tall buildings like the Shanghai Center Tower and Oriental Pearl Tower. Ferries, highways, and a bridge must close for some time.  Over 600 flights are late in different cities.

Experts think that the weather will get better with a cold wind. This year, China has strange weather, from very cold times to very hot days and heavy rain in Beijing and other places.

Difficult words: fog (air which is hard to see through), ferry (a big ship which carries people, cars, and other things), highway (a fast road).
