China developed a laser cannon which shoots down small drones. The laser locates the drone in five seconds and then takes it down. People already tested the system, and it shot down 30 out of 30 drones.

So, why does China want to protect itself from drones? They are small and cheap – they are the perfect weapon for terrorists and spies. China plans to secure urban events with the new system.

China also wants to develop a larger laser. This one will be more powerful, and it will have a greater range, as well.

Difficult words: develop (create/make), urban (city), range (the maximum distance to which a gun can shoot).
