The Colosseum in Rome, Italy, is the largest amphitheater in the world. It is more than 1,900 years old, but it is still open to visitors.

Italian authorities closed the Colosseum, as well as many other public places, because of the coronavirus. The situation was very serious in Italy, and people could not go anywhere for months. Now, it seems that the situation is getting better, and the Colosseum and other museums can open again.

There was a concert at the Colosseum to celebrate the opening, and conservatory students sang classical songs. A few people could enjoy the moment and the special atmosphere of an almost empty amphitheater. The singers said that it was an unusual moment for them, too, because they could be at the start of new and better times.

Difficult words: amphitheater (an oval open building which people built in Italy and Greece, and they used it for sports and theater plays), conservatory (a music school), classical (music which European artists wrote in the 18^th and 19^th century and an orchestra played it).
