Japanese officials told Kobayashi Pharmaceutical to bring back three kinds of pills. It is possible that they caused the deaths of two people and made over 100 people sick.

These pills contained red yeast rice used to color food and were supposed to help with high cholesterol. Kobayashi Pharmaceutical is checking if these pills caused kidney problems. They also told other companies to recall other products that have the same red yeast rice.

Kobayashi apologized and asked people not to use their pills. The government asked people not to use red yeast rice products, especially people with weak kidneys should be careful.
