David Attenborough UN Speech – level 1

David Attenborough comes from the UK. He is 94 years old. He is a natural historian. He is popular in all the world. Attenborough works for the BBC for many years. He makes many documentaries about nature.

Attenborough narrates a popular documentary for Netflix in 2019. It is called ‘Our Planet’. Millions of people watch it. People start to be more interested in the natural world.

Attenborough speaks to the United Nations last week. He is worried about our future. It is not possible to stop climate change. Many people will have big problems. Wars can start.

He says people from all the world must work together. The coronavirus shows us that all the world is connected.

Difficult words: natural historian (a person who studies animals and plants), narrate (to tell a story on a program or film), climate change (when weather and nature changes).
