Eating out is expensive – level 1
30-10-2024 15:00
In Quebec, Canada, many restaurants are struggling because food costs a lot.
Restaurants want to bring people back. Some places are giving discounts and special deals. For example, one chicken restaurant is lowering prices to make eating out easier for people. Other restaurants are keeping their prices the same, even though food is more expensive for them. In the US, restaurants are using deals and apps to get people to order more.
Experts say that discounts can work to bring people in, but it is hard for restaurants to keep doing this because they also need to make money.
Difficult words: struggle (to have trouble), discount (a lower price), deal (a special business).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What strategies are restaurants in Quebec, Canada and the US using to attract customers despite the high cost of food?
