Fires in California – level 1
18-10-2017 07:00
In California’s wine region, there are many fires. Ten people die. Fires destroy around 1,500 homes. Around 20,000 people have to evacuate.
People are trying to save their things. This is before the fires destroy their houses. Firefighters try to stop the fires. Highs winds and dry weather make this difficult. The fires destroy over 70,000 acres of land.
Difficult words: evacuate (move away because of danger), dry (without much rain).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
