Fires in Greece – level 2

Strong winds quickly spread huge wildfires near Athens, Greece. Some people had no time to get away, and at least 50 people died and many more were injured.

Residents and tourists evacuated. The fires spread through popular resorts around the capital. Firefighters are trying to get the fire under control and Greece asked the EU for help.
