Football official kissed a player – level 2
29-08-2023 07:00
FIFA suspended Luis Rubiales, Spain’s football head, for three months. The reason is an unwelcome kiss on a player after Spain’s women’s team won the World Cup.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) supports Rubiales. His lawyers want to prove his innocence. Coach Jorge Vilda regretted Rubiales’ actions. But Spain’s National Sports Council agreed with FIFA’s decision.
Rubiales said that the kiss was mutual. But many people criticize him and they want him to quit.
Spain’s women’s team refused to play under Rubiales.
Difficult words: innocence (when someone does nothing wrong), mutual (doing the same thing to each other), quit (to stop an activity).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What are the potential consequences of the suspension for Luis Rubiales and the RFEF?
