France and Russia fight together – level 2

France stepped up its attacks against the Islamic State after the Paris attacks. Russia did the same after the Islamic State destroyed its airliner over Egypt. One hundred and twenty-nine people died in Paris, and 224 people died in Egypt.

Vladimir Putin and François Hollande spoke on the phone and agreed to start fighting against the Islamic State together. Hollande is going to Moscow to discuss the fight against terrorism at the end of the month.

The two countries plan to take action against the Islamic State both at sea and in the air.
