Free period products in Scotland – level 1
23-08-2022 07:00
Women and girls have a period every month. The period is when blood comes out of their body. Women who are not pregnant have a period.
Some women and girls don’t have enough money to buy period products. They get help from food banks. Sometimes they cannot get help.
Some women use period products longer than is safe or clean. These women cannot do some activities or go to some places. They stay at home.
Scotland makes a new law. All women can get free period products. These products will be in schools, shopping centers, and other places. Scotland is the first country in the world with this law.
Difficult words: pregnant (a baby inside a woman’s body), food bank (a place with food for poor people), free (costs no money).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
