Fuel prices in Europe are growing – level 1
24-03-2026 15:00
There is a war in Iran. The price of petrol in Europe is very high.
In Germany, one litre of petrol costs more than 2 euros. This is a big problem for many people. It is hard to buy fuel for cars. Governments in Europe want to help. They make new rules for gas stations. In some countries, the price cannot change many times in one day. Some countries that say the price must stay low for their people, for example, Hungary.
Everyone wants the war to stop and the prices to go down again. It is important to save money when things are expensive.
Difficult words: price (how much something costs), fuel (a substance like petrol, diesel, or wood which makes power for a machine), gas station (a place where you stop your car to buy petrol or diesel so you can keep driving).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Which country is mentioned as keeping petrol prices low for its people?
