Twenty years ago, Hungarian weddings usually have 100 to 120 guests. Now, there are normally 60 guests at a wedding.

Viktor Orban is Hungary’s Prime Minister. He makes laws which help young people and families. It means that more people are getting married. But the situation is very different in 2023. Hungary has the highest inflation in the EU. The inflation is 16.4%. It means that everything is very expensive. Young people have a budget for their weddings. But the money is not usually enough. They spend several times more money than they want. They often choose cheaper things than they want.

Difficult words: wedding (a ceremony when two people get married), inflation (the price of money), budget (the amount of money which a person can spend on something).
