India burns UK’s tires – level 1

02-04-2025 07:00

This story is about old tires which the UK sends to India. Indian factories should recycle these tires, but it does not happen. People burn them. This hurts the nature and people’s health.

The black market sells the tires. Many people in the UK know about it. The UK government has rules to stop this, but it still happens. In India, some places burn tires illegally. It is very dangerous. Burning tires produces harmful gases and chemicals which make people sick. Accidents happen at these places, and sometimes people die. In some areas of India, children play near burning tires.

This problem is serious, but people continue to sell the tires. Many tires come from the UK, but from other countries, too. The UK government must stop this dangerous business.

Difficult words: tire (a rubber part of a wheel), black market (a place where illegal business happens), harmful (bad for health or nature).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
