India Destroys Satellite – level 2
02-04-2019 07:00
Last Wednesday, India successfully tested an anti-satellite missile. The country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, announced the news.
The opposition then criticised him and said that he did this to become more popular. Others are also worried that space may become weaponised. The USA, Russia and China did similar tests before.
One of the critics is Pakistan, India’s neighbour. The two countries are at war over the region of Kashmir since the 1940s.
Difficult words: successfully (with a good result/end), announce (officially say something), weaponise (put weapons – war machines there).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
