President Donald Trump welcomed the soccer team Inter Miami to the White House. The team won the 2025 MLS Cup after a 3–1 win over Vancouver. Famous player Lionel Messi came with the team.

Trump congratulated the players and spoke about their success. He said it was special to welcome Messi because he was the first  American president to do so. Trump also said his son Barron likes Messi and another famous player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and one of the team owners, Jorge Mas, gave the president a jersey with the number 47 and a soccer ball as gifts. The team celebrated their championship victory at the White House.

Difficult words: owner (a person who has something, like a company or team), jersey (a shirt which players wear in sport), victory (when someone wins a game or competition).
