Kenya did a great job fighting HIV, but now there is a big problem. Free condoms are running out. Before, the United States and other rich countries sent millions of free condoms to Kenya.

Now, the US government cut the money for this help, and the supplies are empty. People who have very little money, like the poor and sex workers, cannot buy condoms because they are too expensive. Local workers see that more young girls are getting pregnant and more people are getting sick with dangerous infections.

Activists try to educate people, but it is hard without free condoms to give away. Some experts say that high government taxes on importing condoms make the situation even worse. If nothing changes, the virus will spread quickly again.

Difficult words: run out (to use all of something so that there is nothing left), supply (an amount of something available for use), activist (a person who works hard to cause social or political change).
