Living with very large feet – level 2
22-10-2015 15:00
A 20-year-old man from Venezuela has the largest feet in the world, and he is now in the Guinness Book of Records. His feet are size 59 by European standards which is size 18 by UK standards. The man’s feet are larger than the feet of the tallest man in the world.
Guinness World Records found out about the man’s feet after a German shoemaker travelled to the country to help him. Before, the man had shoes made from trouser material. These shoes lasted only two or three weeks, so he often had no shoes.
People bullied the man at school because of his large feet. He overcame this, and now plans to help people who are depressed.
Difficult words: last (to exist), bully (to do bad things to someone weaker), overcome (to deal with a difficult situation).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
