Madeleine Albright dies last week. She is 84 years old. Albright is born in former Czechoslovakia. She leaves the country during World War II. She starts to live in the US.

Albright becomes a top politician. She is the first woman who becomes the US Secretary of State. The Secretary of State deals with foreign countries.

Albright is in Bill Clinton’s government. This is a hard time for the US. Albright can speak very well with world leaders.

She travels to North Korea. She meets Kim Jong-il. She meets with Vladimir Putin, too.

Many young women like Albright. She is their idol. She is brave and strong.

Difficult words: former (something that is earlier in time or in the past), deal with (to solve problems, to decide about something), brave (not afraid).
