Metro tickets to cost more during the Olympics

During the 2024 Olympics in Paris, metro ticket prices are set to nearly double, according to the president of the Paris region.

Residents with passes will be exempt from the temporary increase, while visitors will face what is deemed a fair price. The mayor had previously expressed concerns about insufficient public transport during the events. To address this, the region plans to introduce the Paris 2024 pass, priced at 16 euros per day and up to 70 euros per week for visitors.

The president emphasized the need for residents to be shielded from the increased costs, asserting that public services have associated expenses, and it is crucial for visitors, not taxpayers, to cover these costs.
