Miss Holocaust Survivor is a contest for women in Israel. These women live during the Holocaust and a Nazi attacks in World War II.

These women are Jewish. They move to Israel after the war. They start new lives.

10 women are in the contest. They are between 79 to 90 years old. They wear beautiful clothes and makeup. They come from Romania, Yugoslavia (Croatia), and other European countries.

Salina Steinfeld wins the contest. She is 86 years old.

Some people do not like the contest. They say that it makes the Holocaust look less important. Other people do not agree. They say that the women are beautiful. They want to enjoy their lives.

Difficult words: Holocaust (when German soldiers killed many people in World War II), contest (an event in which people want to be better than others in a sport or other activity), Nazi (a person who is in the government of Germany in the 1930s and 1940s).
