Olympics Delayed – level 1
27-03-2020 15:00
The Japanese leader and the Olympic president agree on a deal. The deal is going to delay the Olympics to 2021. The Olympics must happen before the fall of 2021.
The Japanese leader says that they want to help protect people in the big event. They both say that they wish that the Olympics help people feel hope.
In Japan, there are more than 1,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus. In the world, there are almost 400,000 confirmed cases. This number is from a university on Tuesday.
Difficult words: delay (to have something happen later), hope (a feeling that life is good), confirmed case (a true example that something happens).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
