Ottawa shooting – level 2
27-10-2014 07:00
A man shot a soldier at a war memorial in Ottawa, Canada. The gunman then ran into the nearby Parliament building.
Police and the man exchanged gunfire in the building. It is believed that they fired up to 30 shots. The police then shot the gunman dead.
Police now look for suspects after a series of shootings in Ottawa.
Difficult words: memorial (a statue which reminds people of something), exchange gunfire (the man shot at the police and the police shot at him), suspect (a person who is possibly guilty of a crime).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
