Plane Crashes in Indonesian Sea – level 3
09-11-2018 15:00
In Jakarta, Indonesia, a passenger plane crashed in the sea, killing all 189 people on board. Plane’s pilot had asked for permission from the airport to turn back, but 13 minutes later, the airport lost contact.
People are searching for survivors, but they have found human remains and personal belongings. Hundreds of divers are searching along the seabed, and specialised ships equipped with sonar are also searching the wreckage. The cause of the crash is still unclear.
Difficult words: remains (small pieces of a body), seabed (the ocean floor), sonar (a system that uses sound for measuring things under the water), wreckage (what is left of a vehicle or a building after a disaster).
