Plane Incident in Turkey – level 2

A plane from Turkey’s capital of Ankara touched down in a city in northern Turkey. However, it did not land safely. It skidded off the runway and fell down a cliff.

People are investigating the incident. It is possible that there was a bird strike or ice. The incident created panic amongst the 162 passengers and crew on board, but amazingly, no one was injured.

Difficult words: skid (slide), cliff (the tall, steep side of a mountain or a hill), bird strike (when a bird and a plane hit).
