Police Help Ducks – level 2

25-09-2024 15:00

A police car stopped traffic on a busy street in Moscow, Russia. A family of ducks wanted to cross the street, and the police helped them.

People who were walking past assisted the police. They guided the couple and their 12 ducklings to the other side of the road. The ducks walked safely to a nearby park.

Wildlife such as ducks and swans live in ponds and lakes of big cities. People often feed them, and due to this, many ducks and swans cannot find any food themselves. They need people to get food; however, many people must stay at home now. Ducks and swans are starving, and some of them could die.

Difficult words: assist (to help), starve (to be hungry for a long time), need (to depend on someone to do something).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What challenges are ducks and swans facing in big cities due to people staying at home, according to the text?
