Qatar s Emir visits the UK

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher, visited the UK.

King Charles and Prince William welcomed them, along with Princess Kate, who returned to royal duties after cancer treatment. Prime Minister Keir Starmer also met the Emir to discuss investments. The Emir joined a ceremony at the Horse Guards Parade, but Queen Camilla skipped outdoor events because she was recovering from pneumonia. She later joined the state dinner.

King Charles praised Qatar for helping with peace efforts and supporting clean energy projects. He said their visit supports the friendship between the two countries, which already work together in energy and science.

Difficult words: treatment (medical care which a sick person gets), pneumonia (a lung illness), effort (hard work to achieve something).
