Real Madrid wins Champions League title – level 3
05-06-2024 07:00
Real Madrid claimed their record 15th Champions League title by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final at Wembley.
After a strong first half from Dortmund, Real Madrid dominated the second half. Vinicius Junior secured the victory by scoring in the 83rd minute, nine minutes after Dani Carvajal headed in a goal from a Kroos corner. Madrid’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made several important saves, and Niclas Fullkrug hit the post. This kept the score level until halftime.
Dortmund’s coach Edin Terzic did well in the first half, but Madrid’s coach Carlo Ancelotti made good changes for the second half. Jude Bellingham played a key role in the second goal which ended Dortmund’s hopes of winning. Real Madrid’s win is a testament to their resilience and ability to capitalize on key moments.
Difficult words: dominate (to control or have a lot of power over), testament (proof), resilience (the ability to recover quickly from difficulties).
