Italy’s capital, Rome, will have a new metro line. The line will go under Rome’s famous places, for example, the Colosseum.

The line is hard to build. It is one of the hardest projects in the world. It will cost 3 billion euros. The engineer is Andrea Sciotti. The big station at Piazza Venezia will be ready by 2034. There will be an 85-meter wall. Work on the line is slow. One problem is money. But there are other problems. There are many old ruins underground. Experts must search the place. Sciotti says that new machines can dig under the old buildings. They do not break the buildings.

Metro C will go from the city center to the Vatican. It will make travel better in Rome.

Difficult words: metro (an underground train in a city), engineer (a person who designs and builds things), ruin (an old building).
