Russia’s Moon mission – level 2
24-08-2023 07:00
Russia’s attempt to reach the Moon after a 47-year pause failed.
The Luna-25 spacecraft, part of the country’s space program, lost control and crashed into the Moon. The incident happened because there were problems with the craft’s preparations for landing. This event highlights the bad state of Russia’s space program, which was once very strong. The space agency Roskosmos is investigating the situation to find out what went wrong. The failure shows that while Russia achieved big things in the past, it is facing many problems.
Moon missions are difficult. Experts wonder if Russia can compete with countries like China, the United States, and India in space exploration.
Difficult words: attempt (a try), highlight (to make something look important), compete (to try to be as good as the others).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
