Sri Lankan president wants changes – level 1

Sri Lanka has big problems. The country can’t pay for things from other countries. People don’t have enough food, medicine and fuel. Prices are getting high.
People are angry. They start to protest. They ask the government to resign.
The government resigns. The president doesn’t want to do it. He chooses a new government. He says that the problems can bring big changes.
The president wants to speak with all politicians. Their ideas are important. It is also necessary to change the constitution. The constitution has the basic laws of a country.
Difficult words: medicine (drugs which people take when they are ill), fuel (the thing which cars or machines need for power), resign (to leave a job or office).
