The EU has new rules on immigrants

Leaders in Europe vote on a new law. They want to send illegal immigrants out of their countries.

Many people in the government vote for the law. They are very happy. They stand up and shout. Other people are angry. This shows that the leaders have very different ideas.

Many groups say that the new law is bad and unkind. It allows the government to put people in prison for two years. Some leaders say that this day is a dark time in the history of Europe. They think that the new rules will hurt families and children.

Difficult words: immigrant (a person who comes to live in another country), government (people who control a country), unkind (not nice to other people).
