Uber Cuts Jobs – level 3
21-10-2019 15:00
The company Uber has cut 350 jobs. Uber’s CEO announced the layoffs in an email which he sent to the employees on Monday.
A spokesperson confirmed the news to CNN. The announcement affected many teams across the company, including marketing, technologies or recruiting. The number of layoffs is about a percentage of the total number of employees at Uber.
This is the third round of layoffs in the company in recent months. In September, 435 jobs were cut in engineering and product teams. In August, there were 400 layoffs in the marketing team.
Difficult words: CEO (a chief executive officer, the highest-ranking person in the company), layoff (a job that a company ends), recruiting (a department in a company which selects new candidates for a job).
