Vietnamese Victims – level 3
11-11-2019 15:00
Previously, Essex Police found 39 dead people in a truck in England, and the police thought that they were Chinese.
This was based on the documentation that they found in the truck. However, officials announced that the dead people are probably Vietnamese.
Police used the international database, Interpol, to help them identify the bodies. Their methods included dental comparison, fingerprints, and DNA analysis. It was necessary to consider the needs of the relatives of the dead people, as well as the community.
The 25-year-old driver of the truck is suspected of murder and human trafficking.
Difficult words: dental comparison (a method of identifying a person based on his or her dental records at their dentist), fingerprints (marks that people leave on objects when they touch them), human trafficking (an illegal activity which involves transporting humans to another place usually to do some kind of work).
