Volcano Popocatepetl – level 3
08-10-2018 07:00
The Mexican volcano Popocatepetl recently erupted, spewing ash and smoke into the air. The first activity started on 21st September in the evening.
The ash fell in a nearby town and, along with the smoke, people could see it for miles. The government warned local residents to stay away from the area.
A massive earthquake in February triggered the volcano’s prior eruption.
Difficult words: spew (send out with a lot of force), prior (earlier, the one before), trigger (start).
