World’s Biggest Plane – level 2
24-04-2019 15:00
Stratolaunch is a company which successfully tested a huge plane on Saturday, April 14th. It is the world’s largest plane by wingspan – it is wider than a football field.
It weighs 227 metric tons, is 61-metres-long, and has six engines. It is designed to carry a rocket loaded with a satellite to 7,620 metres in the air. From there, the rocket shoots to space.
Stratolaunch says that launching satellites like this is more cost-effective. Planes also deal better with bad weather.
Difficult words: huge (very big), launch (send to space), more cost-effective (cheaper).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
