World’s first backside 2160 – level 1
14-04-2022 15:00
Hiroto Ogiwara is a Japanese snowboarder. He is 16 years old. He does something amazing last week. He is the first person in the world who lands a backside 2160.
A backside 2160 is a trick with six full rotations while you use your snowboard. It is very difficult.
Ogiwara does it at The Nines. The Nines is a freestyle event for the world’s best skiers and snowboarders. It takes place every year. This year, it is in Switzerland. It lasts six days.
Ogiwara does the trick on the last day. He doesn’t plan it before the event.
Reira Iwabuchi is another Japanese snowboarder. She has a good day, too. She is the first woman in the world who does a frontside triple 1260. A frontside triple 1260 is three and a half rotations.
Difficult words: amazing (very great or wonderful), rotation (a turn around), freestyle (a sport or race without any or with only a few rules).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
