World’s oldest dog dies – level 2
30-10-2023 15:00
In 1992, a dog named Bobi was born. He was a Portuguese mastiff and most dogs like him live for about 12 to 14 years. But Bobi was different and he lived for an incredible 31 years and 165 days.
Bobi’s start of life was tough. When he was born, the owners didn’t want him and his three brothers. People thought about burying them, which was a normal thing to do at that time. A young boy named Leonel Costa and his brothers stepped in and saved Bobi. He became part of their family and he lived with Leonel all his life.
In February 2023, Bobi officially became the world’s oldest living dog. He broke the record which Bluey, an Australian cattle-dog, previously held. He lived for 29 years and 5 months.
Difficult words: incredible (hard to believe), tough (very difficult), step in (to take action).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What are some of the contributing factors to Bobi's longevity?
