Zelenskyy and Trump meet – level 2

On February 28, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met US President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C. They wanted to agree on a minerals deal that would allow the US to get Ukraine’s rare earth minerals.
But the meeting didn’t go well. Zelenskyy warned Trump not to trust Russian President Vladimir Putin because Russia broke promises before. Trump’s Vice President JD Vance said Zelenskyy was not respectful, and Trump stopped the meeting.
Later, Trump said he would check if Ukraine should still get US military aid. Some European leaders supported Ukraine and said Russia was the problem. The French and German leaders promised to help Ukraine. Even after the argument, Zelenskyy hoped to talk with the US again.
