Apple breaks EU rules – level 2
28-06-2024 07:00
Apple is in trouble with EU regulators for breaking tech rules, which could lead to a big fine.
The EU’s investigation started in March and looks at Apple’s new rules that hurt app developers. This is the first charge which wants to control big tech companies and make things fairer. The final decision will come by next March.
The EU antitrust chief said Apple’s rules stop app developers from talking freely with users and making contracts. Apple must change its rules to avoid the fine. Recently, Apple made some changes after hearing from developers and the Commission, and it will keep working with them.
The EU also said Apple charges too much for new customers through the App Store.
Difficult words: regulator (a person who controls rules), decision (something you decide to do), avoid (to keep away from doing something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
