Apple has a new boss – level 3
27-04-2026 07:00
Tim Cook is stepping down as the CEO of Apple after fifteen years. Under his leadership, the company became a four-trillion-dollar giant and achieved huge financial success.
Although he followed a charismatic founder, Cook managed to grow the business significantly. He will stay on as chairman to handle important relations with China and the White House because he has a unique skill in this area. John Ternus will be the new leader of the company starting this year. Ternus previously worked as the head of hardware engineering, and he has many patents for his designs. Experts believe he might be a more hands-on leader for new products compared to Cook.
This change comes at a time when many people ask if Apple can create a new device as successful as the iPhone. One major problem is that Apple fell behind in the race for AI. Other companies are moving faster, and the company must now catch up to stay the leader. The new boss must also manage difficult global politics while trying to release breakthrough technology.
Difficult words: giant (something or someone that is very, very big), charismatic (having a special power to make people like you and listen to you), patent (an official right to be the only person to make or sell a new invention), hands-on (doing something yourself instead of just telling others what to do).
