Australia shark attack – level 2
10-06-2026 07:00
A 35-year-old man died after a big shark attacked him in Western Australia. He was spearfishing with his family near a small island.
A giant Great White shark, about 4.5 meters long, bit him badly. His family tried to save him and took him on a fast boat to the town of Albany, but his injuries were too bad, and he died on the way. People in the town are very sad because it is a small place where everyone knows each other. Hours before, a special satellite machine saw a big shark near the beach. An expert said this is the fourth bad shark attack in Australia this year. He explained that fishing underwater is very dangerous because sharks can smell the blood of the fish. He tells people to stay out of dark water and away from groups of small fish.
Difficult words: spearfishing (catching fish underwater with a long sharp stick), giant (very large), smell (to notice something using your nose).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How long was the Great White shark that bit him?
