Bad fans stop a big football game – level 2

15-05-2026 07:00

A football match between Prague teams Slavia and Sparta stopped because fans ran onto the field. Slavia was winning 3-2 and almost finished the game, but hundreds of people broke the rules and entered the pitch.

Some fans attacked Sparta players and threw fireworks. The police are now using videos to find the people who caused the trouble. The damage to the stadium, like broken seats and signs, will cost a lot of money to fix. Because of this trouble, Slavia might lose the game by a forfeit (a 0-3 score). This would be very bad for the team because they are trying to win the league. The club might also have to pay a big fine and play matches in an empty stadium.

The president of Slavia asked the fans to go home peacefully and said he was very sorry about the situation.

Difficult words: enter (to come or go into a place), forfeit (when a team loses a game because they break a rule or cannot play), fine (an amount of money you must when you break a rule).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What consequences might Slavia face as a result of the supporters’ pitch invasion?
