California, Mexico and Trump – level 2

California is a state in the USA. Its southern border is with Mexico and there are 360 Californian troops at the border.

Last week, California’s governor announced a plan. He wants to move all of the troops from the border to fight fires or look for information on drug cartels instead.

The governor said that Trumps border crisis is not real, and that California will not be a part of his political theatre. Political theatre is when a leader says things to get people to want to follow him or her.

Difficult words: troops (police or soldiers), announce (officially say something), crisis (a time of danger and problems).
