Czech Republic celebrates 20 years in the EU – level 2

The Czech Republic became a member of the EU 20 years ago. European leaders and other famous people celebrated this event at Prague Castle.
The Czech Prime Minister said that more countries should join the EU, for example Ukraine. But they need to follow the rules. It is necessary to be fair and transparent about this. The Czech President said that EU and NATO membership is very important for their country’s freedom and safety.
The German President said that Europe should stay together and think of Ukraine as part of Europe. The Ukrainian President hoped that Ukraine could join the EU soon and thanked the Czech Republic for its help in the war with Russia.
