Orkney is a group of islands. Orkney belongs to the UK.

The islands now use drones for mail. Royal Mail and Skyports make Orkney I-Port. Drones move letters and parcels between islands. The drones use batteries. They help make the air cleaner. Drones will deliver mail for three months. If it works well, they will continue after this time. There is a strong wind in Orkneys. It is not easy to move between the islands. It takes cars and ships a long time to travel there.

Drones solve these problems. They can carry up to 6 kilograms. Transport’s Fund pays the project.

Difficult words: drone (a flying robot), parcel (a box which people send by post), project (a piece of work).
